FOTD: Enlisting for Beauty

Hello Lovelies,

Hope all is well.... Today's look was a fail, I wasn't pleased with the outcome of the look because of the quality of some eyeshadows. Nevertheless, I decided to share in case anyone is wondering how these shadows would look on the eye of a Woman of Color.

L.A colors Jumbo pencil: Sunglasses (cut crease), Bikini Time (bottom lash line base)
Wet n Wild cosmetics trio:

• Enlisting For Beauty; eyelid color (Lid), browbone color (highlight)
• Your Minutes Aren't Up; crease color (bottom lash line), eyelid color (bottom lash line)
• A Regular At The Factory; eyelid color (crease)

NYX e/s: Black (cut crease)

The Wet n Wild pop collection eyeshadow trios: Your Minutes Aren't Up and A Regular At The Factory colors look pigmented but when applied to the eyes are blotchy and powdery. These work better for crease or tear duct colors but definitely not lid colors for us Woman of Color.

FOTD: I ♥ them BARBIE pink lips

Hey lovelies,

I hope all is well with everyone, I am glad to be back. Had issues with my camera usb cord, ordered another one but haven't received it yet but I got a new laptop: A MAC Book pro. It comes with sd card slot insert so that was super easier than using my usb cord to transfer pictures to my new baby. I did some looks during the time and I will post 2 looks per post just to catch you up.

I really don't recall everything I use (crazy me)! .... If you have question on any looks, I will try to go thru my stash to see what color is exactly like what is in the pictures.

First up is a fail look from using Wet n Wild coloricon Trio: I Got Good Jeans
I will definitely redo a look for this trio...I hate how it came out and I love the colors from the trio but the lip color was the only part of this look I really loved.

Hi,
These are looks I did in the week but they both failed.

I was trying to recreate an Alicia Keyes look but it didn't come out the way I wanted it to. I used the E.L.F. Luxe palette. I applied the crease color too heavily and the lid color should have been softer.






Also I was watching a Youtube guru: TheIslandBeauty and saw her use the MAC 217 and blend out the NYX jumbo pencil in Milk on her eyelids. So because these pencil always crease on my oily lid even using UDPP. I decided to blend it using my 217 rather than my fingers and I added my colors and the look wasn't doing it for me, I think its the colors i used which were from the 120 palette.Also I placed tape at the edge to get a clean sharp edge...hmmmm...my blending got too messy there...lol...
Also for my color combination I just choose colors that I thought would show up on my skin tone. As you can see from the hot pink, it was fading. So I need a better base for that hot pink. Being that its a matte color pink, I think the 120 palettes matte colors texture aren't the greatest. Apart from that, I will search for that right base to use these matte colors with. I think my next option is the Mehron AQ palettes (as soon as I purchase them).
